This page will provide you with links that I think are helpful for this course.
The Purdue Online Writing Lab (OWL): This website is great for finding information about MLA (or APA) formatting, and it also provides mini-lessons in writing: how to format a document, how to integrate research into your sources, how to change your style/tone.
Examples of "Bad" Memos: This is a website I found while looking for "bad" memos.
CareerBuilder.com: "The Largest Job Search, Employment, and Careers Site."
Monster.com: "Find Jobs. Build a Better Career. Find Your Calling."
Indeed.com: "one search. all jobs."
WVU Career Services Center: Career Services offers many services for students. You can sign up for MountaineerTRAK, which allows you to create profiles, learn about on-campus recruiting, and find opportunities for internships and careers.
"10 Business E-mails You Shouldn't Send": This is an article that was posted on CNN on Wednesday, May 25, 2011. Definitely check this out for the major don'ts of sending professional emails.
Recommendation Report: This is an incredibly thorough site about the elements of a Recommendation Report, lifted from the IUPUI website. Despite its questionable design choices, the content is on point.
IKEA Assembly Instructions: IKEA is known by many for their modern furniture, affordable prices, and incredibly convoluted assembly instructions. Because they're an international company, instructions are often only visual to avoid language confusions. The question, though, is how effective are their visuals?
Webpagesthatsuck.com: This website was created to highlight bad web design in the hopes that its readers would learn the major "don't's" of creating websites. Check it out. Learn from others' mistakes.
DILBERT: I thought everyone should know that the Dilbert site is the best. That's all.
